About the author After obtaining his Master’s degree in Islamic Banking and Finance from La Trobe University, Melbourne, AbdulShaheed Drew worked as a researcher in that field and developed curricula for Islamic finance courses. He served for many years as an Islamic Studies teacher and plays an active role within the Australian community, delivering speeches at various mosques, universities and Islamic centres. He also holds a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic Language, an Honours degree in Comparative Religion, and a Diploma in Arabic Language and Linguistic Studies from the Islamic University of Madinah.
