FOUNDATION OF ISLAMIC FINANCE

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Muhamad Abduh, PhD. is an Assistant Professor at UBD School of Business and Economics, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. He has obtained his Bachelor of Science (Statistics) from Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia and Master of Art (Islamic Studies) from Ibn Khaldun University, Indonesia. He has also obtained his Master of Economics (Islamic Economics, Banking & Finance) degree from the Department of Economics of KENMS-IIUM in 2009 and Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (Islamic Banking) from the same institution in early 2012. His research and teaching interests focus on the area of Islamic Economics, Business, Banking and Finance. He presented papers in many conferences and published several journal articles in International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, International Journal of Excellence in Islamic Banking and Finance, Journal of Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance, American Journal of Applied Sciences, Business Intelligence Journal, Journal of Islamic Finance, and et cetera. Among books he wrote is a co-authored text-book with Prof. Azmi Omar which has been published by John-Wiley & Sons entitled “Fundamentals of Islamic Money and Capital Markets”. Prior to joining UBD School of Business and Economics, he was the Head of Research of the IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IliBF) and the editor of Journal of Islamic Finance, the official journal of IliBF
