MOHD YUSOF HUSSAIN was born in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. He received his early education at Anderson School Ipoh. He received his B.A (Hons) from the University of Malaya in 1966, his M.Sc degree from the University of Philippines Los Banos in 1974 and his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, U.S.A in 1982. He served as Head, Department of Development Communication, Agricultural University Malaysia from 1982-1990 and as Professor of Islamic Communication at the International IslamiC%University Malaysia from 1991-2013. He has also served as Da’wah Training Consultant for Regional Islamic Da’wah Council for Asia and the Pacific (Riseap) in the 1980s. He has edited nine academic books and produced twenty five book chapters on topics related to Communication and Islamic da’wah.
