How To Be Kind To Your Parents
Birr ul Waalidayn – Kindness to parents is one of the most important duties in Islam and upsetting your parents is one of the gravest sins. Ibrahim Ibn Salih Al-Mahmud offers Islamic advice about how to honour parents in this Islamic book. Allah (swt) says,

“Thy Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you are kind to your parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in your life, do not say even ‘Uf!’ to them (i.e. the smallest word of contempt), nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour.” Surah al-Israa’: 23
