STUDIES IN ANCIENT HISTORY

Ghassan Taha Yaseen is a Professor in Ancient History
and Archaeology at the International Islamic University of Malaysia. He received his PhD from Birmingham
University, England (1987) and his thesis title “A Study of the Old Babylonian Pottery from the Hamrin Basin,
Iraq: with Special Reference to Tell Halawa”, Already published. His MA was from Baghdad University (1976) in the field of
“Ancient Archaeology” while his BA was from Baghdad University (1973) in the field of “Ancient Archaeology”.
Ghassan Taha was the Head of Archeological Expedition in the Ar-
chaeological and Cultural Research Center, Mosul, Iraq and a member of Archaeological Expedition at North Field Site, England. He was
also Head of Archaeology Department in Sana’s University, Yemen.
Currently, he is a member of the Department Promotion Committee in the Department of History and Civilization, IIUM. He is also a member
of Human Science Sub-Committee for Postgraduate Affairs and the Coordinator of Postgraduate and Research Department Committee. He
has published books and academic papers, and the most popular one’s are “Old Babylonian Pottery from the Hamrin, Tell Halwa, “The First Symposium of Yemen Archaeology” (ed) and “A Dictionary of Ancient Near Eastern Architecture” (book translated from English to Arabic).
