Dr. Khalid Mahmood Shaikh had been Director Institute of Islamic Studies, University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for over a decade. Prior to that he had worked as Director Training and Research at International Islamic University, Islamabad. He obtained his M.A. English and M.A. Arabic degrees from the University of the Punjab, Lahore in 1965 and 1982 respectively. He got advanced TOEFL from Sydney (Australia) in 1983 and Ph.D. from Punjab University Lahore in 1985. He taught Qur’anic and Hadith Sciences almost a decade at Dawah Academy, International Islamic University, Islamabad. He has also delivered a series of Lectures on Qur’an and Hadith Sciences during his official visits to Australia, Europe and America, in 1983,1991, 1992 and from 2000 to 2004 respectively. His published works include, “A Study of Hadith”, (Chicago, U.S.A., 1994); “A Study of Quran and its Teachings”, (Chicago, U.S.A., 1998); “IsIam in Modern Age”, “Hadith & It’s Literary Style”, “Hadith & Hadith Science” published by National Book Foundation, Islamabad in 1999, 2001, 2006 respectively. His book “Dawah in Modern Times” is published by Royal Book Company Karachi in 2000. This book was among the selected new acquisition in religion, University of California Berkeley Library October 2001 and was recommended for students and scholars.
