TOWARD DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE QURAN

THE AUTHOR MD. FERDOUSE KHAN, educationist of Bangladesh, was born at Chittagong on Decemberffl, 1919. He passed M.Sc. in Physics in 1943 standing first in the first class from the Dhaka University and M. A. in Education in 1948 from the Institute of Education, London. He worked for a number of years as professor of Physics at the Chittagong Government Degree College. Later he held important positions such as Professor at the Dhaka Teachers‘ Training College, Planning Adviser in the Education Directorate, Deputy Director of the Bureau of National Reconstruction, Director of Projects in the Education Directorate, Chairman of Dhaka Board of intermediate and Education, Director of Public Instruction (D.P.l.) and Additional in the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh. He al_|,____f’quite a number of books on a variety of subjects. In recognitio|_f”ii’:¢’§12iI-’l‘;1is.’ outstanding contribution, he received the Presidential Award “EKUSHEY PADAK” in 1980. Since 1977 he has been concentrating mainly on mass education, children’s literature and the study of Al-Qur’an.
