About the Book Syed Anisuddin was born in Akola, India and has been a lifelong student of Urdu and English Literature. After obtaining a degree in Commerce and B.Ed he joined the education department in 1955, and in his later years he served as a principal in the UAE. The present work is an effort to assess objective conditions, issues and problems of democracy and its relevance with Islam. This volume has attempted to look into the problem in totality of the democratic system, the governments, the environment and strategies of functional value. The Qur’an guides us that there is only one straight path to govern mankind and that is in the position of His viceregent Who wiål govern and decide according to the divine law. At broad he has written on Islam form of government, characteristics of democracy in Islamic Law, forms of government in contemporary Muslim countries and , a compare on western democracy as well as the social challenges that a democracy faces.
