We currently live in an age that is in need of all preceding works to derive the rulings of the Shari ‘ah from the Qur’dn as well as the Sunnah. To understand the complexity of today’s life, we require every insightful view and endeavour towards implementing the commands of Allah the Almighty in people’s lives, rendering them in concordance with Allah’s will. Imam Ahmad ibn ‘Abd al—Ijlalim ibn Taymiyyah al—Ijlarrani (d. 728 A.H.) is considered as one of the most renowned and highly regarded jurists who have exerted boundless efforts in trying to rekindle the implementation of Allah’s command in the daily life. We observed that the very problems which Ibn Taymiyyah has addressed are still being investigated nowadays by Islamic banks to formulate modern financial transactions.
