Md. Ferdouse Khan, eminent educationist of Bangladesh -— was born in Chittagong, 1919. He obtained his M. Sc. in Physics in 1943 from Dhaka University and M. A, in Education in 1948 from the Institute on Education, London. Working for a number of years as professor of Physics at the Chittagong Government Degree College. Later he held important positions such as Professor at the Dhaka Teachers’ Training College, Planning Adviser in the Education Directorate, Deputy Direc- tor of the Bureau ef National Reconstruction, Director of Projects in the Education Directorate, Chairman of Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Director of Public Instruction (D.P.I.) and Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh. He authored quite a number of books on a variety of subjects. His works include The Scientific findings and the Holy Quran (1978), Thoughts on the Muslim Law of Inheritance (1982), The Prisoner of Darkness (1982), Light upon Light (1986) and The Quranic Principles of Education (1988).
